Recently, a special soirée was held at the Cooroy Butter Factory to commemorate this significant milestone, bringing together clients, professional service providers, and the Hinternoosa team.
Director and Principal Sirah Robb, alongside her husband John Robb, welcomed the attendees with a heartfelt speech reflecting on the agency’s journey. “To fully appreciate the significance of this 35-year milestone and where we are today, it helps to reflect back on where we have come from,” said Sirah. “Thirty-five years ago, in 1989, Murray and Lyndal Brown started Hinternoosa on Garnet Street in Cooroy. Hinternoosa soon became known as the go-to hinterland agency, leading the field in terms of market share and specialising in small to large hinterland acreage and prestige properties.”
The Robbs have carried forward the legacy initiated by the Browns, emphasising growth and innovation while maintaining core values around client service, results and community contribution that have defined Hinternoosa for over three decades. In her speech, Sirah highlighted significant milestones, such as a 21-year-old Alisa Wythes starting her real estate career at Hinternoosa in 2004. Alisa’s mum, Trisha Wythes, who had been her own success in real estate for many years before, then joined forces with Alisa at Hinternoosa. Jeanette Catalano joined in 2005, Heather Fleming in 2009, and Kess Prior, who would become a partner in 2014, joined in 2010. The inception of Wythes Real Estate by Trisha and Alisa Wythes took place in 2010, with Warren Berry joining soon after. This was the same year Sirah Robb started her real estate career, transitioning from a career in health. All are still integral members of the team today, further highlighting the longevity of the team.
John and Sirah’s subsequent acquisitions and mergers shaped the current team at Hinternoosa. “In November 2017, in the lead-up to Trisha Wythes’ retirement, John and I purchased Wythes Real Estate. Acquiring Noosa Lifestyle Real Estate at the same time instantly doubled the size of the Wythes business. Alisa Wythes continued on as an agent, increasing her focus on sales. In December 2018, we bought Hinternoosa when the Browns were retiring, and appointed Kess Prior as Principal,” Sirah recounted. “We continued to run both businesses as competing agencies, focusing on results, change management and culture in order to grow. In 2019, we acquired Fiona Winter Realty as Fiona moved into retirement. We rebranded the agency to Wythes, adding a Doonan office to our offering.”
The agency’s ability to adapt to changing market conditions has been a cornerstone of its success. Sirah detailed the challenges and triumphs faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period that tested the resilience and ingenuity of the real estate industry. “The initial couple of months of the unknown soon turned into a transition of all three offices to work from home, daily team communications on new guidelines, and a frantic frenzy of buyers with FOMO,” Sirah explained. “Even in the hectic pace of the pandemic years, we held steadfast to our commitment to client service and continued to achieve the best results in the market.”
